About this course

This module provides information and lessons on Sustainable Economic Development in Protected Areas. It explains the importance of protected areas, which can bring many economic benefits alongside the conservation of natural systems. The module shows how various sectors such as tourism, agriculture, forestry and others can develop within a protected area by following simple conservation measures.

Sustainable economic development will be studied in this module from different perspectives: How protected areas can contribute to the economy at regional and national levels, and how economic development can help secure alternative funding for the conservation of natural systems in the Protected Area.
